Terms and Conditions

Updated October 14, 2026 · Version 2026-10-14

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of Stase on stase.co, the web app (PWA), the Telegram bot and the Discord bot. By pressing the Agree button when registering, you declare that you have read and agree to this document as well as the Privacy Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy.

1. About Stase and its operator

Stase ("we") is an AI assistant service for medical students, physicians and Faculty of Medicine lecturers.

Complaints contact: [email protected].

2. Purpose of the service

  1. Stase is intended for education and reference: studying, practicing questions, reviewing guidelines and literature, drafting outlines for written work, and academic work.
  2. Stase is not a medical device and is not a telemedicine service. Stase is not intended to establish a diagnosis, determine individual doses, provide risk scores, or read examination images of real patients.
  3. Stase must not be used for emergencies. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

3. Accounts and age

  1. Registration is only possible through a Google account with a verified email address.
  2. The minimum age is 18 years. Users aged 17 years must obtain permission from a parent or guardian and are placed on a waiting list until we announce that registration for them is open. Users under 17 years of age cannot register.
  3. Your age and your role (student, clinical clerk or koas, resident or PPDS, physician, lecturer) are self-declared. You are responsible for the truthfulness of that declaration.
  4. One account is for one person. An account may not be lent, shared or sold.
  5. An account can be active on at most 2 devices at the same time. A fifth new device within 30 days must be confirmed through the account owner's email.
  6. For important actions (deleting your account and deleting all memories), you must verify your identity again: sign in again with Google and, where necessary, enter a code sent to your email.

4. Prohibition on entering patient identifiers

  1. Do not enter patient identifiers into Stase in any form: name, medical record number, NIK (Indonesian national identity number), date of birth, address, telephone number, BPJS number (Indonesian national health insurance number), or any photo or document bearing a hospital letterhead.
  2. Use de-identified case vignettes (for example, age, sex, complaints and findings) so that the patient cannot be identified.
  3. You warrant that you are entitled to use all data and files that you enter, and that their use does not breach any duty of confidentiality or the rules of the facility where you study or work.

5. AI answers

  1. Stase's answers are generated by AI, which can make mistakes, including when an answer appears convincing.
  2. Double-check answers against the PNPK (Indonesian national clinical practice guidelines), the latest official guidelines and your facility's policies, and with your supervisor. Clinical decisions and academic decisions remain in your hands.
  3. Stase endeavors to cite sources and to check citations (DOI and PMID) against Crossref and PubMed. The check status may be "verified", "not found" or "could not be checked"; treat citations that have not been verified with caution.
  4. If you find an answer that is incorrect or harmful, use the "Report incorrect answer" button. Reports are reviewed by the Stase team.
  5. These provisions do not remove our responsibility as governed by the laws and regulations.

6. Plans, credits and subscription periods

  1. Stase is sold as prepaid plans of 30 days each: Basic Rp 99,000 (5,000 credits), Pro Rp 199,000 (12,500 credits) and Max Rp 333,000 (25,000 credits). Prices include applicable taxes.
  2. Credits are a usage limit for each subscription period, not a balance, electronic money or a value that can be cashed out. Credits cannot be transferred to another account.
  3. All use of the AI service consumes credits, including chat, web search, image generation and editing, file reading, background processes (generating session titles, recording memories, summarizing, condensing very long sessions, and drafting quizzes and exam plans) and failed attempts.
  4. The price of each action in credits is updated on the 1st of each month at 00:00 WIB. The number of credits per plan stays the same.
  5. The daily limit is 20% of the period's credits. The daily limit, the image limit and the upload limit reset every day at 00:00 WIB (UTC+7).
  6. Period rules:
    • Paying before the period ends: the new period starts when the old period ends.
    • Paying again after credits run out: the new period starts immediately, and the remaining days of the old period lapse.
    • Upgrading: the new period starts immediately at the full price, and the remaining old credits are carried over.
    • Downgrading: takes effect from the next period.
    • Paying twice: the second payment automatically becomes the next period.
  7. Credits that have not been used by the end of the period are not carried over to the next period, except when upgrading.
  8. Subscriptions are not renewed automatically. We send reminders by email three days before and on the day the period ends.
  9. Gifted plans from the Admin are treated as regular periods.
  10. Referral program:
    • When a friend who registered through your referral link or code completes payment for their first plan, you and your friend each receive a bonus of 500 credits.
    • The bonus is given only if, at the time that payment is processed, the referral program is running, your account still exists and you have an active plan (paid or gifted). If any of these conditions is not met, neither you nor your friend receives the bonus.
    • Likewise, a referral code can be used at registration only if the same conditions are met.
    • The bonus as an invited friend is given only once for each email address, including when an account is deleted and then registered again with the same email address.
    • You receive a bonus for every eligible new friend, with no limit on the number. Gifted plans from the Admin do not count as payments.
    • Your friend's bonus is added to the period created by that payment and your bonus is added to your active plan; both are treated as regular period credits.
    • We may suspend the referral program temporarily; while it is suspended, referral codes cannot be used and a friend's first payment does not earn a bonus.

7. Payment

  1. Payment is made through QRIS (Indonesia's national QR payment standard), processed by DOKU (payment processor), only on the stase.co website.
  2. A QRIS code is valid until the time shown. We still process payments received after the code has expired, and the plan is still granted.
  3. Digital invoices can be downloaded from the Settings page.

8. Payments are final

  1. Payments are final: amounts already paid cannot be refunded (no refunds), including when credits remain unused at the end of the period.
  2. Make sure that the plan you choose is right for you before paying.
  3. Complaints about the service can be submitted through the complaints contact in section 1.

9. Content and output

  1. The content you enter remains yours.
  2. To the extent that we hold any rights in Stase's output (text, PPT/Word files, images), those rights become yours. You are responsible for your use of that output.
  3. For graded assignments, use Stase to help you learn and to check your writing, not to replace your own work. Follow your institution's rules on academic integrity and the use of AI.

10. Prohibited use and enforcement

Use of Stase is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, which includes prohibitions on entering patient data, automation, reselling access, sexual content and deepfakes. Violations may result in a warning, the freezing of features (images or web search) or the suspension of the account.

11. Service availability

  1. Stase depends on third-party AI service providers and infrastructure. When a disruption occurs, we display information about it on the status page.
  2. The Admin may temporarily disable certain features (for example, images or web search) for the security and stability of the service.

12. Privacy and data

The processing of your personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy, including the processing of messages by OpenAI and Exa in the United States, data retention, and your rights over your data.

13. Changes to the Terms and Conditions

  1. We may update this document. Material changes will be notified in advance through the app or by email, and you will be asked to agree to the new version.
  2. Changes to the price or benefits of a plan do not apply retroactively to periods that you have already paid for.

14. Dispute resolution

  1. This document is governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.
  2. Complaints can be submitted through the complaints contact in section 1. We endeavor to resolve them amicably through deliberation.
  3. This provision does not limit your right to pursue consumer dispute resolution through BPSK (Badan Penyelesaian Sengketa Konsumen, the Indonesian consumer dispute settlement body) or the courts in accordance with the applicable regulations.
