Stase policies

Acceptable Use Policy

Updated October 14, 2026 · Version 2026-10-14

Stase is built to help medical students, physicians and Faculty of Medicine lecturers study and work. This policy applies on the web, in the app, and in the Telegram bot and the Discord bot, and forms part of the Terms and Conditions.

1. Use Stase for

  • Studying, practicing questions and text-based OSCE simulations.
  • Reviewing the PNPK (Indonesian national clinical practice guidelines), international guidelines and literature, and then checking their citations.
  • Outlining, checking and improving writing that you produce yourself.
  • Preparing teaching materials, questions and rubrics (for lecturers).
  • Asking general questions outside your studies.

2. What is prohibited

  1. Entering patient identifiers: name, medical record number, NIK (Indonesian national identity number), date of birth, address, telephone number, BPJS number (Indonesian national health insurance number), or any photo or document bearing a hospital letterhead. Use de-identified cases.
  2. Using Stase to make decisions directly about real patients or emergencies, including asking for a diagnosis, an individual dose or a level of urgency for a patient you are currently treating.
  3. Automation: accessing Stase with bots, scripts, scrapers or other automated means outside Stase's official apps and bots.
  4. Reselling or sharing access: lending, renting out or selling accounts, credits or Stase output as a paid service.
  5. Sexual content, including sexually explicit content. Sexual content involving children is absolutely prohibited and will be reported to the authorities.
  6. Deepfakes and misuse of photos of people: editing photos of real people to demean, harass or deceive, or without the consent of the person concerned.
  7. Contract cheating: producing work to be submitted in someone else's name, or submitting Stase output as your own work where your institution's rules prohibit this.
  8. Breaking the law or infringing the rights of others, including copyright and other people's personal data.
  9. Compromising security: attempting to access other users' data, manipulating the system through hidden instructions (prompt injection), or overloading the service.

3. Academic integrity

Stase can help with outlining, giving feedback and checking citations, but graded work must remain your own. Follow the academic integrity rules and the AI use guidelines of your university or teaching hospital, including disclosing your use of AI where required.

4. Mental health and crisis situations

If a conversation shows signs of a risk of self-harm, Stase responds with empathy and encourages you to contact someone you trust or a health professional. Stase is not a counseling service. If you or someone near you is in danger, go immediately to the nearest emergency department (IGD) or contact your local emergency services.

5. Enforcement

  1. Every request rejected by the AI provider's moderation is recorded per account. If there are three rejections within 24 hours, the related feature may be frozen automatically.
  2. Violations may result in a warning, the freezing of features (images or web search), or the suspension of the account, depending on the severity of the violation.
  3. Every staff action on an account is recorded in the audit log.

6. Reporting

  • Incorrect or harmful answers: the "Report incorrect answer" button below every answer.
  • Abuse, copyright infringement or other complaints: [email protected].
